Cozy Drinks

Dreamy Lavender Lemonade

So, this has become a trending recipe recently and I can see why.

Lavender drinks are becoming very popular – the other day I tried one at Starbucks and although it is an acquired taste for me, I am beginning to love it.

Last week, I covered a butterfly pea coconut milk drink that you might like here.

And today, I’m going to cover another simple but cozy drink – a beautiful lavender lemonade.

It looks simple, but it’s very elegant. If I had to describe it, it would be like sunshine, wildflowers and space all at once!

This is the perfect spring drink!

It’s very simple to make. You steep dried culinary lavender to create a floral syrup, then mix it with fresh lemon juice and chilled water.

The color is a soft pale violet.

It’s the kind of drink that feels Pinterest-perfect but only takes a few steps. You can make a batch for brunches, picnics, or whenever you want to romanticize your afternoon.

Tips for Making It Extra Dreamy

Getting the balance of flavors and colors just right is key. Here are a few essential tips to keep in mind:

  1. Use culinary-grade lavender for the best flavor and safety: Try this one
  2. For an even richer color, add a tiny bit of butterfly pea tea while steeping—just a pinch will do.
  3. If you prefer honey over sugar, use local raw honey to boost the floral taste naturally: Raw honey option here
  4. Chill your glasses before serving for that café-style icy crispness.
  5. Want a sparkling twist? Swap 1 cup of the water with chilled sparkling water right before serving.

Let’s get to the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender (don’t use ornamental lavender)

  • 1 cup water (for steeping the lavender)

  • ½ cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste)

  • ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)

  • 3 cups cold water (for mixing)

  • Ice, lemon slices, and lavender sprigs for serving

Directions

  • In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil.
  • Remove from heat, add the dried lavender, and let it steep for 10 minutes. While it steeps, squeeze your lemons and strain out any seeds.
  • After 10 minutes, strain the lavender water through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher, pressing out all the floral goodness.
  • Stir in the sugar or honey until fully dissolved, then add your fresh lemon juice and 3 cups of cold water.
  • Stir well and chill before serving over ice with lemon wheels and a tiny sprig of lavender if you’re feeling fancy.

  • I personally love making this when I’m feeling hot and just need a cool refreshment!

Variations and Substitutes:

Swap lemons for limes to create a dreamy lavender limeade.
Add vanilla extract (just ¼ tsp) for a creamy-floral flavor, perfect for pairing with tea cakes.
Make it a lavender Arnold Palmer by mixing half lavender lemonade and half brewed black tea.
Turn it into a cocktail with a splash of vodka, gin, or sparkling rosé—hello, garden party!
For a refined sugar-free version, use stevia, agave, or monk fruit sweetener.

Dreamy Lavender Lemonade is one of those recipes that makes you slow down and sip mindfully.

It feels delicate and elevated, but it’s actually simple enough to whip up any day of the week.

Whether you’re hosting friends or just craving something special, this floral lemonade is here to help you romanticize your life a little more.

Pour it into your prettiest glass, take it to the balcony, and let the day unwind.
